These paintings are used as a form of reflection, about the personal relationship between my world and the world around me. Everything starts from something real, evolving or devolving into abstract form, as the relationship between inner and outer worlds blurs. The paintings move steadily into my abstract reality from the ordinary reality we believe to have in common. The path of this ongoing process is to bring into alignment the external world and my inner world. The parts which appear to be incongruent, awkward and nonsensical, become part of a bigger whole that is congruent through an ongoing process in which paintings feed into and inform each other as well as what is observed.
